Lt. J.R.R. Tolkien’s Mark VI Webley revolver issued during his service on the Western Front in the First World War. He retained it after the war and it was eventually handed in by his family in the 1990s. Photographed today, the 5th day of November, AD 2022, in the Imperial War Museum North at The Quays in Greater Manchester where it is part of the permanent displays.
